Unit was dead. First checked the electrical circuit to unit whcih was good. Checked the power cord which was operationable. Then checked that capacitor whcih was good.
Saw the unit repair guide on u-tube followed the instructions and replaced the mother board. Litte difficult puling the plugs but once replaced the unit worked immediately. Read more...

The air filter keeps dirt, dust, and other airborne particles from getting into your home. Blocked or restricted air filters are the most common cause for window air conditioners to not blow air. If the air filter becomes dirty or clogged, there will be little or no air flow over the evaporator coils. This causes frost to form due to constant cold air and no circulation, resulting in little or no air being circulated into the room. The air filter is positioned in front of the evaporator which is located behind the front grille. Regular replacement or cleaning of the air filter is essential to maintaining the efficiency of the air conditioner.

The control panel cover attaches to the front panel and covers the selection buttons and display components for the room air conditioner. The main function of the cover is to protect the display settings and selection buttons from getting damaged. The cover has clips on both left and right top corners for easy installation. These clips also allow the cover door to open and close with ease. If one or both are broken, the part should be replaced. The panel cover measures 8 inches wide x 8 1/2 inches long, and is gray-beige in color. This control door is a genuine OEM replacement part and replaces discontinued part #W971X10015.
