LG Washer Washing Machine Drain Pump
★★★★★
★★★★★
262 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS3579318
Manufacturer Part Number 4681EA2001T
The drain pump and motor assembly may also be known as the washer drain pump and is a part for your washer. The drain pump helps expel water from the washing machine. The drain pump is activated after the spin cycle speed is maintained for a specific period of time. To make this installation you will need a Phillips screwdriver, a small flat-blade screwdriver, a pair of needle-nose pliers, and a pair of slip-joint pliers. Note that the pump casing is not included. This medium-difficulty repair may vary, but can generally be started by disconnecting power, then removing the top of the washer by taking out the four back screws and two small brackets. Then, remove the front panel by taking out the two screws and eight tabs that should be taken from the top. Moving down the front of the washer, remove the door, latch, tub gasket, and drain cover. Disconnect the drain hoses and clip from under the drain assembly, and install new assembly from there. Reassemble parts in direct reverse order -- taking photos during disassembly and keeping parts clearly organized can help here. Despite the number of steps, you will only need a standard Phillips screwdriver to complete this repair.

Washing maching wouldn't drain
Removed the top of the washer by removing the 4 back screws and 2 small brackets. Then I removed the front panel, this was actually the hardest part, 2 screws and 8 tabs that you pop out carefully from the top of the panel. I only disconnected the power button and was able to rest the panel on top of the washer. The rest of the washer came apart quickly just moving down the front of the washer and removing the door, latch, tub gasket, drain cover. Removing the pump was just a mater of disconnecting the drain hoses, and one clip under the drain assembly. 3 screws attach the drain to assembly to the pump and only 2 wires that are clearly marked. Reassembly is just going back through in reverse order of disassenbly. The best thing about this is that it all comes apart with a standard phillips screwdriver. Read more...

Dryer not heating
I followed video instruction in disassembling and set screws from each section into diferent small bowls in the order they were removed. Hardest part was some of the screws were really hard to get loose without stripping them and my control panel did not match video but I figured it out. Replacing the parts were easy and putting it back together. While it was apart I cleaned everything including fan blower wheel. Thanks for the right parts and your online video. With your help and a prayer this 62 year old woman fixed the problem and dryer runs like new. Read more...

LG Washer Magnetic Door Plunger
★★★★★
★★★★★
61 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS3618292
Manufacturer Part Number AGM73610701
This magnetic door plunger, also known as the magnet holder, is built for your washer. When you order this part, you will receive the plastic housing and a spring that goes with it. The magnetic door plunger attaches to the inner door panel of the washer. It holds the door open when the washer is not running, and allows the door and tub seal to dry. This prevents mold and mildew from building up. Occasionally, the plastic tabs on the housing can break, and when this happens the part will need to be replaced. You may also notice that your washer lid or door will not close; this can also be a sign of a damaged magnetic door plunger.

Door would not close
There is a magnet at the bottom of the door which allows the door to be held ajar when the washer is not in use to allow the tub and gaskets to dry. A tab on the plastic housing which retains the magnet broke which allowed the housing to pull free of the door and stick itself to the machine preventing the door to close. Easy fix to replace the magnet was $18. Instructions were included in the box. Part number on the drawing was A165. PS3618292 Magnetic Door Plunger Read more...

LE Error Message and won't spin drum properly
I first tested the motor per the service manual. I checked the resistance between the terminals of the 3 pin connector. It's supposed to be 5-15 ohms. The motor checked out so I replaced the main electrical board. It turns out that wasn't the problem. After a brief web search I found out that the hall sensor (which is attached to the motor stator) was the likely cause of the failure. I replaced that and everything works great now. And now I have a spare main board in case that ever fails. I also want to mention that I took the time to remove the dispenser box (where the water comes in and is directed to the different cleaning products) and cleaned it with a very strong bleach solution. It got rid of the mildew and funky smell. It seems that the fabric softener caused a lot of mildew to form inside the dispenser directly above the fabric softener tray. The bleach took care of that. This is probably something that should be done routinely to keep the mildew from forming. Read more...

LG Washer Door Lock Assembly
★★★★★
★★★★★
26 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS3533609
Manufacturer Part Number EBF49827801
The door lock assembly is a part for your washing machine and tells the washer that the door is closed and locked into place. If the switch has shorted out and not locking, it is no longer delivering the message to the machine and it will not latch into place. If you find that your door will not close, open, or start, it is more than likely an issue with the locker switch assembly. The switch is located behind the front panel. You will need to remove the gasket to reach the switch.

LG washing machine flooded the Landry room.
Wife called me and said the washing machine just flooded the Landry room. I looked at it and didn't see anything wrong. Took the top off and the back off and started looking for a leak, did not see anything. Took the front part of the washer apart thinking the drain hole was plugged up where the rubber boot is. It was ok after taking the big rubber boot off or whatever that is called i was not getting anywhere. I put it back together left the top and the back off. I turned the water on and started the washer on a quick cycle looking for a leak. I found the bellows at the inlet had a small leak fixed that and started the washer again. So what i found out was the clean out drain plug was not in tight letting water out as it was washing after i tightened it all was ok. So i did find a leak that was small that we never saw. The hardest part was putting that wire clamp on the rubber boot it took two people to do that. Read more...

Common LG Washing Machine Problems and How to Fix Them

It may feel like repairing your LG washing machine is a challenging task, but do not stress. We offer expert repair advice to help guide you through the repair process, making sure the experience is quick and painless.

Noisy LG Washing Machine – Different parts of your LG washing machine, like pumps and drive belts, are designed to experience movement during use. Over time, these parts may become worn and start to produce banging noises. To identify the reason for the noise, you need to isolate the area of the machine where the sound originates.

Leaking LG Washing Machine – It can be alarming to see water leaking from your LG washing machine. Over time, it is not uncommon to see a pump or hose become worn and damaged leading to issues with water leakage. You can resolve this by locating the source of water and inspecting the parts to ensure proper connection and checking for any damage. This will allow your machine to operate without leaks.

LG Washing Machine Will Not Start – It’s frustrating when your LG washing machine fails to start. Often, this is linked to aged drive motors or a defective timer, but it might also be due to a damaged door or lid strike. After making sure the power cable is securely plugged in, you should first inspect the lid or door strike for any damages which would not allow this to lock, then move on to the electrical parts such as drive motor or timer. By checking these areas, you can diagnose and fix your problem, allowing your machine to start again.

LG Washing Machine Will Not Spin – It can be troubling when you experience issues with your LG washing machine’s spinning function. With the numerous moving parts in your appliance, it’s not uncommon to find worn-out parts that cause this problem. Some common areas to investigate would be the direct drive motor coupling and the door lock. By inspecting these areas, you can diagnose the issue and begin repairs. Ensuring your washing machine spins correctly once again.

LG Washing Machine Does Not Drain – It can be unsettling to discover that your LG washing machine isn’t draining water at the end of its cycle. Blockages in some of the parts necessary for efficient drainage are not uncommon and can cause this issue. A solution can often be found by inspecting key areas involved in the drainage process, such as the water pump and connecting hoses. By doing so, you can identify and solve this problem, ensuring your machine drains with each cycle.
