Whirlpool Air Conditioner Capacitor

PartSelect Number PS11757023
Manufacturer Part Number WPW10662129
This capacitor (Refrigerator and Freezer Compressor Run Capacitor, Run Capacitor) provides the voltage or energy current required to start the compressor and keep it running. It allows the compressor in your appliance to easily cycle on and off. This capacitor mounts directly onto the compressor starting relay. If the capacitor is faulty the compressor may get unusually hot and draw excessive amperage. It the compressor overheats, it may fail to run until it cools down again. The compressor may also get noisy from overheating. If this part is totally electrically open, it is defective (often due to overheating) and needs to be replaced. The part measures 1 inch by 1-1/2 inches, and is constructed of plastic with two metal wire terminals. This item includes 1 capacitor, sold individually. This part comes in black.

My refrigerator stopped cooling and the freezer section stopped freezing
I knew the chances of all the freon leaking out was unlikely so I looked at the wiring to the compressor and there was a capacitor and a starter/overload so i figured I would start there. I went on line and found the parts at this site and they were less than the minimum service call charge for a service tech so I figured what the heck let's give her a shot so I did give it a shot. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys! Read more...

Whirlpool Air Conditioner WASHER
★★★★★
★★★★★
1 Review
PartSelect Number PS12578732
Manufacturer Part Number W11236646
This part is located on the drum roller support shaft in your dryer appliance. The exterior of the washer is 1 inch in diameter with a hole in the middle and is made of metal. They are installed alongside the drum support rollers and idler pulleys. If you notice that your dryer is making an unusual sound it could be due to the washer becoming loose on the drum support. They help prevent the rollers and pulleys from bumping up against the brackets they are installed on. If you are replacing the rollers, we suggest you replace the washers at the same time.

Whirlpool Air Conditioner Motor Clip

PartSelect Number PS11757442
Manufacturer Part Number WPY015825
This motor clip is an original manufacturer replacement clip used to secure the motor in your home appliances. It holds the motor firmly to its housing to prevent shaking and potential damage while the appliance is in use. Over time the clip can fail due to exposure to high temperatures, vibration, and humidity resulting in an unstable motor and decreased performance. Remove and discard the faulty clip and place the new one in its position. Align it appropriately with the motor and mounting bracket before securing it in place. Be sure to check your equipment specifications as your appliance may require two clips to complete the repair, and this clip is sold individually.

Rumble noise and groaning on startup.
I found that I replaced more parts than I needed to fix fhis problem. The source of the rumble was the blower wheel connection to the motor, allowing the wheel to wobble (plastic wheel flat spot worn off over time, no firm lock to the motor shaft). But the dryer should be good for another 10 years!

Disconnect dryer from electrical outlet and exhaust.

Remove the back access plate to release the belt from the pulley. Remove the two screws at the bottom front of the dryer, rotate the front to release it at the top. Remove the wires from the door status switch. Remove the 4 nuts holding the drum support frame and pull straight out. Remove the drum. Remove the two bolts holding the thermostat cover (silver odd shaped metal plate at the front of the dryer). Remove the dryer blower cover plate by removing the 6 bolts holding it to the blower housing. Remember to remove the bolt holding the plate to the bottom of the dryer. Release the door status wire from the clips on the left side of the dryer and set the blower housing plate to the right, out of your way without removing the wires. Remove the blower wheel by removing the Circlip at the front of the shaft and then removing the shaft compression clip. Pull out the blower wheel and then remove the rear Circlip from the motor shaft. The back of the blower housing can be removed by removing the 4 bolts holding it to the motor support frame to make access easier but this may not be necessary. Release the 5 wires attached to the motor. Release the front and back motor clips. I used a large straightblade scerwdriver to press down and out on the end of the clips. Lift out the motor. Remove the rear pulley from the motor using an allen wrench and transfer it to the new motor. Set the new motor in the support frame, ensuring the lips of the vibration isolation rings are pointed down to slip over the frame and are not facing up towards the clips ( makes clip instalaltion much easier). Hook up the wires, following the color coding on the motor controller you are attaching to. Reinstall the blower back housing if removed, rear circlip, blower wheel, front circlip, shaft compression clip, blower housing front cover (Including the bolt to the dryer bottom) , reroute the door switch wire up the left side, reinstall the thermostat cover, reinstall the drum and belt, reinstall the drum front support frame (ensure the felt seals for the drum and the blower cover are properly aligned and seated correctly), hook up the door status wire when your set the front cover and install the 2 screws, reinstall the belt through the pulley and idler wheel (make sure the belt smooth side is against the drum) through the back access panel and reinstall the panel.

The fan blade clamp, also known as a clamp spring, are for air conditioners. The clamp supports the fan blade on the motor shaft. When the motor is running, it signals the shaft to turn and rotate, but without the support of the clamp the motor shaft is unable to function properly. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for installation instructions and accurate guidance. Remember to unplug your air conditioner from the power source as a safety precaution and wear work gloves while you perfrom this repair.

accumulated condensation caused condenser fan failure
Pull the unit out of cabinet. Remove the brace between the blower housing and the condenser frame. Remove the screws securing the the condenser coil to the base and carefully lift and angle it just enough for the broken fan to clear ( be very careful with the refrigerant lines ). Slide the new fan back on the shaft and secure with the spring clamp. I used a pair of vice grips to compress the clamp, but be very careful because the clamp can exit the pliers, if the jaws are not perpendicular to the clamp. If you live in a area with high humidity remove the rubber plug at the back of the unit or the condensation will break your new fan. This fan needs some changes in design because the condensation puts too much stress on the plastic that contacts the motor shaft - some metal between shaft and the blades would help. Read more...

PartSelect Number PS12747832
Manufacturer Part Number 5900AR1508G
This is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from LG. This axial fan assembly, also known as a condenser fan, is commonly used in air conditioners. This compact propeller like fan fits on the motor shaft and circulates air over the condenser to help cool off the refrigerant. This fan blows air parallel to the motor shaft that the blade rotates on, which is why it is able to successfully circulate the air over the condenser. This fan is made out of white plastic, and it is sold individually. Make sure you unplug the air conditioner before you start this repair.
